The common misunderstanding
Many people assume the responding agency cleans the property once the investigation ends. It does not. Evidence collection and remediation are entirely separate.
Cleanup falls to the property owner, the family or, for a rental, the landlord or property manager.
What remains after release
Blood and bodily fluids, contaminated flooring and furnishings, and investigative residues such as fingerprint powder are all left in place when the property is released.
Hiring a cleanup company
An independent biohazard cleanup company performs the remediation. Summit Bio Recovery is not affiliated with any law enforcement agency and does not claim to be.
